Five quick tips for travelling with a 9-5 job

I love these ideas! I don’t live in the U.K., but I am definitely going to use some of these travel ideas.

A Beautiful Distance

How do you make room for travel in a busy working-life schedule?

There’s annual leave I guess. In the UK we’re considered lucky to get 28 days off per year, across many countries this is far less, but I can’t be the only one left thinking that it just isn’t enough to satisfy by inner travel bug? If you’ve read my other posts, you’ll know howmeticulously I plan my time off from work, I carefully plan out all my holidays a year in advance in order to make the most of them. Personally, I struggle to work more than ten weeks at a time without a break, I can’t decipher what it is but I just run out of steam, I basically start counting the hours until my next holiday, even if it is still three weeks away. I had a chance to travel and visit Atlantic City, NJ this past week.  As always, I ventured outside to walk around and see what the area had to offer.  What better place to do both than to visit the Atlantic City Boardwalk!  The weather was awesome to be outside, and there were plenty of people who were doing the same.  It was my first time visiting the Boardwalk, and I was very impressed.

There were plenty of things to do on the Boardwalk, from playing your luck at one of the Casinos, visiting one of the restaurants, walking on the beach, or just walking around and getting a good workout.  There were people riding bicycles, pushing strollers, kicking soccer balls, and walking on the beach (Another great thing was the free admission to walk on the Boardwalk!).  We visited during the evening, and the Boardwalk was well-lit and very clean.  The Boardwalk Tram service offered low fare transportation services for people who wanted to ride on a 15-passenger tram-car along the Boardwalk.  A one-way ticket was $2.25, and an all-day tram pass was $5.50.

I would definitely recommend visiting the Atlantic City Beach Boardwalk!

A Walk in the Park

Hello!  Just a quick post about my outdoor adventures in state and city parks.  These pictures are from several parks in Illinois.  I had my Bishon-Poodle as my outdoor companion.  She enjoys being outdoors as much as I do (at least I hope she does).  When the weather is nice, visiting a park offers great benefits and opportunities (awesome scenery, free entrance, picnicking, barbecuing, walking for fitness, etc).

Hello!

Hello everyone!  I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend.  My days have been filled with excitement as I prepare for several triathlons and bodybuilding competitions in Illinois and Missouri.  My goal is to write about my experiences and provide an insight on my workouts, nutrition, and meal planning, while balancing my family, college, and social life.  Follow me as I prepare for these competitions!  I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I do.  Take care.  B
